As a writer on geography and exploration

James Oliver is the author of such books as the highly influential The Bering Strait Crossing, which was published worldwide in 2006. In 2007, he was invited to the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow to discuss prospects for an intercontinental transport corridor between Eurasia and North America in the 21st century.

James Oliver is presently researching Strait of Gibraltar Crossing (work-in-progress), the second part of the trilogy Where Continents Meet.
